| Mobile Home Residents Buy Park
EXETER, N.H. -- The residents of an Exeter mobile home park have purchased the land under their homes in the largest deal of its kind in New Hampshire. The Exeter River Manufactured Housing Cooperative bought the Lindenshire Mobile Home Park last week for $15.6 million. The 89-acre park is home to 392 households. Chris Clasby of the New Hampshire Community Loan Fund said the sale gives residents security because they won't have to worry about the park being sold and will have control over their rents. The loan fund provided the group with a $3 million second mortgage. .
Class builds sheds and playhouses
The carpentry class at the Connellsville Area Career and Technical Center is experiencing every facet of residential housing construction -- without leaving the classroom. When instructor Jerry Matthews took the job at the technical school, the students were building actual modular homes. "But the project was so big and the students had to go outside to do the work, so it was weather permitting," Matthews said. "I got the idea to downsize and we started making miniature buildings that could be used for storage or for a child's playhouse." Since the projects began in 2004, the classes have put together eight buildings. .

A Springfield man who has been living in his garage and travel trailer for the past seven months has moved a step closer to getting the modular home he paid for last October. The Missouri attorney general's office Thursday ordered Dogwood Homes of Springfield to deliver by May 7 the modular home Richard Wycoff bought last year after his home blew up in a natural gas explosion. .
